New Element Discoverd; Managerium

A major research institution has recently announced the discovery of the heaviest element yet know to science.  This new element has been tentatively named “Managerium”.  Managerium has 1 neutron, 12 assistant neutrons, 75 deputy neutrons, and 111 assistant deputy neutrons, giving it an atomic mass of 312.

These 312 particles are held together by forces called morons, which are surrounded by vast quantities of lepton-like particles called peons.  Since Managerium has no electrons, it is inert.  However, it can be detected as it impedes every reaction with which it comes into contact.  A minute amount of Managerium causes one reaction to take over 4 days to complete when it would normally take less than a second.

Managerium has a normal half-life of 3 years; it does not decay but instead undergoes a reorganisation in which a portion of the assistant neutrons and deputy neutrons exchange places.  In fact, Managerium’s mass will actually increase over time, since each reorganisation causes some morons to become neutrons, forming isodopes.

The characteristic of moron-promotion leads some scientists to speculate that Managerium is formed whenever morons reach a certain quantity in concentration.  This hypothetical quantity is referred to as “Critical Morass”.

You will know it when you see it.*

*I found this a few days ago whilst tidying up my computer. A friend sent it to me several years ago… Some things never change ;-)

The weekend weather was glorious and I seized the opportunity to enjoy a walk in Attingham Park on Sunday afternoon.  Due to  the weather being so nice, it was heaving with people.  However it was still possible to find pathways where it was relatively quiet.

As you can see I also had a rather naughty lunch ;-)

Hadrian's Wall

Hadrian’s Wall was built by the order of Emperor Hadrian, following his visit to Britain in AD 122.  It was planned as a continuous wall with a milecastle every Roman mile (1.48 kilometres) and two turrets equally spaced between each milecastle.  The wall, with its defensive ditches and large forts, stretched from coast to coast, a distance of 80 Roman miles (approximately 120 kilometres or 75 miles).  It formed the northenmost frontier of the Roman Empire.*

I’m Only A Cat

I’m only a cat,
and I stay in my place…
Up there on your chair,
on your bed or your face!

I’m only a cat,
and I don’t finick much…
I’m happy with cream
and anchovies and such!

I’m only a cat,
and we’ll get along fine…
As long as you know
I’m not yours… you’re all mine!
