…but not to dwell.

So yesterday with that in mind, Mum was whisked off for a day out.  We visited Baddesley Clinton, which included a very nice lunch.  Then we moved on to Packwood House, both are National Trust properties and quite different.

The planned evening meal on the way home was a little more difficult than expected with places being too busy or being closed for food…. We got there in the end though and had a meal in one of our favourite places – The Golden Ball.

In other news – I have still not got my internet connection sorted out properly :-/

After lots of tests and reconfiguring I have come to the conclusion that the ‘new router’ is faulty!!!

So back to the drawing board on Monday, when I can return it and hopefully get a more suitable replacement.

The Gentle River Flows

O Lord my God, when I in awesome wonder
consider all the works thy hand hath made,
I see the stars, I hear the mighty thunder,
thy power throughout the universe displayed:

Then sings my soul, my Saviour God; to thee,
How great thou art, how great thou art!
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God; to thee,
How great thou art, how great thou art!

When through the woods and forest glades I wander,
and hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees;
when I look down from lofty mountain grandeur,
and hear the brook, and feel the gentle breeze;

But when I think that God, his Son not sparing,
sent him to die-I scarce can take it in
that on the cross, our burden gladly bearing,
he bled and died to take away our sin;

When Christ shall come with shout of acclamation
and take me home-what joy shall fill my heart!
Then shall I bow in humble adoration,
and there proclaim: My God, how great thou art!

Due to family commitments tomorrow I have weighed in a day early.  I lost 1.5lb so I seem to be back on the downward trend.  It was nice to see my regular WW leader who has been away on her hols for three weeks.

Throughout antiquity the cedars of Lebanon were prized above all other trees. Their fine wood was strong, straight and wonderfully scented. It was always the first choice for any temple or palace, and top value in trade was paid for it. These trees helped give the Phoenicians a high place among other nations, and became the symbol by which they and their descendants were known.

I was sitting quietly minding my own business yesterday afternoon when suddenly the silence was shattered by several house alarms going off at once.  The power had gone off.  When it came back on again it became apparent that the incident had fried the network router, so I no longer had an internet connection.

On further investigation after attaching a new router (today) it seems that further damage has been done.  The network now works but the internet is still not available…  Tech support were not responding, so it won’t get sorted until at least tomorrow at the earliest.  It will probably take even longer because first the service provider  have to do a check, then if the problem isn’t there it gets passed onto BT to see if the lines and exchange are working properly…

I have managed to get get a temporary connection using mobile broadband but it is slow, so no Flickr uploads, they are too large…  And for some reason it won’t let me comment on most Blogger blogs.  So please bear with me I will get back to commenting eventually, technology willing!
